Bihar Secondary Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) is conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board for determining the eligibility of candidates for teaching positions at the Secondary and Higher Secondary levels.

The examination consists of two papers:

• Paper 1: For teaching Classes 9–10
• Paper 2: For teaching Classes 11–12

Candidates who meet the required educational qualifications can apply for one or both papers, subject to the applicable eligibility conditions.

Bihar STET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

The educational qualification depends on the Paper and Subject selected by the candidate.

Paper 1 – Secondary Teacher

Paper 1 is intended for candidates seeking eligibility for teaching Classes 9–10.

Candidates generally need the required graduation qualification in the relevant subject along with the prescribed teacher-training qualification such as B.Ed.

Paper 2 – Higher Secondary Teacher

Paper 2 is intended for candidates seeking eligibility for teaching Classes 11–12.

Candidates generally need the required Postgraduate qualification in the relevant subject along with the prescribed teacher-training qualification.

Bihar STET 2026 Age Limit

The age limit and age relaxation will be applicable according to the rules prescribed by BSEB.
Based on the previously available STET rules, the age limits were generally as follows:

BC/EBC	40 Years
SC/ST	42 Years

Age relaxation may be available to candidates belonging to reserved and other eligible categories as per government rules.

Bihar STET 2026 Application Fee

The available fee details are as follows:

Candidates applying for only one paper have to pay the applicable fee for that paper. Candidates applying for both papers have to pay the fee applicable for both papers.
