The educational qualification is post/specialty specific.

For most medical teaching posts, candidates are required to possess the relevant recognized postgraduate medical qualification, such as:

• MD
• MS
• DNB
• DM
• MCh
• DrNB

The degree must be in the relevant/concerned specialty as prescribed in the advertisement.

Candidates should also satisfy the required teaching, research or clinical experience conditions applicable to their particular post.

Experience Required

Experience requirements differ according to the post.

Professor

For Professor posts, candidates are generally required to have:

• Relevant postgraduate medical qualification.
• Required experience as an Associate Professor in a recognized medical institution.
• Required research publications after becoming Associate Professor.
• Other experience/conditions prescribed for the concerned specialty.

Assistant Professor

For Assistant Professor posts, candidates are generally required to have:

• Relevant postgraduate medical qualification.
• Required Senior Residency/teaching experience in the concerned subject, wherever prescribed.
• Other specialty-specific requirements mentioned in the notification.

Candidates should read the post-wise eligibility table carefully because the exact experience requirement may vary by specialty.

The age limit is calculated as on 1 July 2026.
Assistant Professor
Minimum Age: 26 Years
Maximum Age: 40 Years
Professor
Minimum Age: 35 Years
Maximum Age: 55 Years
Age relaxation is available to eligible reserved categories and other candidates according to UPPSC Government of Uttar Pradesh rules.

The application fee is as follows:
