SBI Clerk 2026 Age Limit

The prescribed age limit is:

• Minimum Age: 20 years
• Maximum Age: 28 years

The age is calculated as on 1 April 2026.

Candidates should have been born:

Not earlier than 2 April 1998 and not later than 1 April 2006, subject to applicable relaxation rules.

The selection process generally consists of the following stages:

Stage 1 – Preliminary Examination

Candidates first appear for the online Preliminary Examination.

Stage 2 – Main Examination

Candidates who qualify/are shortlisted from the Preliminary Examination appear for the Main Examination.

Stage 3 – Local Language Proficiency Test

Candidates who are required to prove proficiency in the specified local language have to qualify in the Local Language Proficiency Test.

Stage 4 – Document Verification

The Bank verifies the candidate's documents and eligibility.

Stage 5 – Final Selection

The final selection is based on the applicable recruitment rules and Main Examination performance, subject to meeting all eligibility requirements and qualifying the language requirement where applicable.

Important: The marks obtained in the Preliminary Examination are generally not added to the final merit, while the Main Examination is used for final merit subject to the applicable rules.

Candidates applying for the SBI Junior Associate (Customer Support & Sales) post must fulfill the following educational qualification:

• The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree in any discipline from a recognized university or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government.

• Candidates from any stream, such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Management, etc., are eligible to apply.

• Candidates who are in the final year/semester of their graduation may also apply provisionally, subject to the conditions mentioned in the official notification.

• Final-year candidates must be able to provide proof of passing the graduation examination within the prescribed date mentioned by SBI.

• Candidates holding an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) must ensure that their IDD completion date satisfies the eligibility conditions.

• Candidates with qualifications such as Medical, Engineering, Chartered Accountant, Cost Accountant, etc., are also eligible, provided they fulfill the other eligibility requirements.

Important Note
The required educational qualification is Graduation. Therefore, 12th-pass candidates who have not completed graduation are not eligible for SBI Clerk 2026.
