Candidates applying for RRB JE & DMS Recruitment 2026 (CEN No. 04/2026) must possess the prescribed educational/technical qualification from a recognized Institute/University on or before the last date of application, i.e. 13 September 2026. Candidates awaiting the final result of the required qualification are not eligible to apply.
For JE posts, candidates must have either:

• Three Years Diploma in Engineering in the relevant discipline, or

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering/Technology (B.E./B.Tech) in the relevant discipline.

The accepted disciplines are mapped into the following examination groups:

• Mechanical & Allied Engineering: Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, Industrial, Machining, Tools & Die Making and related streams.

• Electrical & Allied Engineering: Electrical Engineering and related sub-streams.

• Electronics & Allied Engineering: Electronics, Instrumentation & Control, Communication, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology and related streams.

• Civil & Allied Engineering: Civil Engineering and related sub-streams; 3-year B.Sc. in Civil Engineering is also included.

For DMS posts, candidates with a 3-year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline can apply, as specified in the notification.
Important: The qualification must already have been obtained by 13 September 2026. Simply appearing in the final examination or waiting for the result does not make a candidate eligible.

As per RRB CEN No. 04/2026, the prescribed age limit for Junior Engineer (JE) and Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) posts is 18 to 33 years as on 01 January 2027.

Important: The candidate's Date of Birth must match the Matriculation/10th certificate, and the age will be calculated as on 01.01.2027

As per RRB CEN No. 04/2026, candidates have to pay the examination fee according to their category. The fee is payable online only through Internet Banking, Debit/Credit Card or UPI.

Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released CEN No. 04/2026 for 3,993 Junior Engineer (JE) and Depot Material Superintendent (DMS) vacancies. Eligible candidates can apply online from 14 August to 13 September 2026. The recruitment offers Pay Level-6 with an initial salary of ₹35,400, and selection will be based on CBT, Document Verification and Medical Examination.
